English Ivy

English Ivy, or Hedera helix, is a hardy evergreen climbing vine or used as a groundcover that has dark green, glossy leaves. English Ivy grows 6 - 8 inches when used as a ground cover and can climb to 9 feet as a vine.

English Ivy has been recommended for use as a low maintenance alternative to lawns because it is evergreen, relatively pest free, very cold hardy and fast-growing groundcover that requires little care once established. Plant English Ivy 18 inches apart to create a carpet affect.

Plant spacings: Plant 18 inches apart, 100 plants cover a 225 square foot area.
For larger jobs, plant bare root plants (same size without the pot) and save money.
