Sorry for any inconvenience.
NEW! Arborvitae, Degroots Spire The name arborvitae or "tree of life" dates from the 16th century when the French explorer Jacques Cartier learned from the native Americans how to use the tree's foliage to treat scurvy with its high vitamin C content. The leaves have been used as medicine, and even boiled and drank like a tea. Degroots Spire is a cold hardy form that can grow to a height of twenty feet with a spread of three feet. This very impressive column of medium green foliage will take on a purple cast in the winter months. Grows well in direct sun or partial shade with moderate water requirements. The narrowness of this evergreen make it ideal for smaller planting areas, and its height contributes to its use as a hedge or screen. The evergreen plants will arrive healthy and ready for planting. Should they die within the first year we will replace at one half the current member price plus shipping.
Once planted with moderate care, just watering every five days or so and not fertilizing for the first year, the plants generally do well. The evergreens are a low maintenance, easy to grow; almost no care needed plant to own.
