NEW! Tiearella Pirate's Patch PP14907 Tiearella Pirate's Patch is a fabulous edging plant in partially shaded or shaded areas. Pirates create a wonderful display with white spires of fragrant delicate flowers in the spring, with emerald foliage that develops chocolate markings in the summer, followed in fall with its leaves turning a reddish-brown.
The great appeal for Tiearella Pirate’s Patch is for it’s shade tolerance, early bloom season, fragrance, repeat flowering and unusual leaf shapes. They set the stage for hosta and bulbs in the spring and provide color in fall and winter.
You will definitely want to have this one in your collection of attractive plants for garden shaded areas. It is a clumping perennial that grows to a width of 12 inches and foliage height of 5 inches, and with its flower spires, a height of 10 inches. The Pirate’s Patch sports an outstanding growing habit with its low, slow creeping stems and huge foliage. Up to 250 flower spikes per plant have been reported on 3 years old plants.
Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:
Tiarellas prefer woodland conditions: humus-rich, moisture retentive soil and dappled to full shade. If properly sited, they will keep their nice foliage all winter long, shedding it only when the warmer days of spring arrive.

Introducing, exclusively for Greenwood Nursery Club members and customers,
our NEW STEP–UPS ™ Perennial Plant collection.
What are Step-Ups ™? – Our perennials are cultivated and grown with an accelerated system. They are started in small containers, transplanted to quart containers, and then transplanted again to ONE GALLON SIZE CONTAINERS. This expands the root system, making our plants perform like a two year perennial the very first year. Step-ups ™ perform the first year you plant them.
