Bolgatanga Market Baskets

These very finely woven baskets are handcrafted by artisans in the Northern Region of Ghana, West Africa. While farming supplies the majority of the income in the region, basket weaving provides supplemental income during the dry season. Many of the weavers are women and the extra income helps provide daily necessities for their families.

Each basket is unique so colors, designs and exact sizes will vary within the small, medium and large sizes.
