Cistena Plum Tree Form is just the thing for adding seasonal color to your landscape. Prunus x Cistena Tree Form offers all of the same characteristics as the Cistena Plum shrub version; fragrant pink flowers in early to mid spring followed by purple plum colored leaves. The Cistena Plum Tree Form is small enough to use in foundation plantings, yet large enough for a dazzling impact of color and structure.
Cistena Plum Tree Form is a trained small growing tree which has been regularly pruned and shaped to perfection. Our Cistena Plum Tree Form is shipped as a 4 foot tall, bare root tree.
As with all Flowering Plums, the Cistena Plum Tree Form, requires moist soil and can handle acidic to slightly alkaline pH levels. Plant them in full sun as shaded areas may not allow the leaves to develop as dark a purple hue. This plant is potentially poisonous and would be best not planted around farm animals, schools, or in landscapes where pets and/or children might ingest any part of the blooms or leaves.
With its fragrant flowering to a long growing season of purple to red leaves and its attractive branching structure, the Cistena Plum Tree Form is on the Greenwood Nursery list of investment plants.
