Buy Bare Root Maidenhair Ferns
Maidenhair Ferns are pretty and delicate ferns. The wiry, purple-brown petioles and feathery, circular fronds of the Maidenhair ferns grow outward in a flat, fan-like position. You will find this fern variety slow spreading and is a non-invasive fern.
How to Grow Maidenhair fern plants
The plants remain attractive from spring to fall when planted in humus-rich, loose, well-drained soil that is kept moist at all times. Give your Maidenhair ferns a cool site in part to full shade. Plants can be propagated by dividing the creeping rhizomes or tubers in early spring, just as they emerge. Tubers should be planted just below the surface.
This lacy fern adds a delicate touch to the shade garden. Plant Adiantum pedatum with hostas, astilbes, fringed bleeding hearts, lungworts (Pulmonaria), toad lilies (Tricyrtis), and woodland wildflowers.
