Boxwood Wintergreen Shrubs -
Boxwood Wintergreen is a popular low growing evergreen shrub also known as Korean Boxwood. The Wintergreen Boxwood, Buxus microphylla, is regularly seen as a low growing boxwood hedge or as a border defining the edges of both informal and formal gardens. The Boxwood Wintergreen offers dark green lustrous evergreen leaves and creates a striking hedge with year round color. This is a boxwood that will hold its green color beautifully all winter long.
Tips for planting Wintergreen Boxwood Evergreen Shrubs.
Plant the Wintergreen Boxwood in well-drained, moist soil (not wet). It may require supplemental watering during the growing season to keep the soil moist. Being in full sun allows for the best growth results. Little pruning is required to keep the Wintergreen Boxwood in its mushroom shape. Do prune out any damaged or dead branches. Fertilize in spring with Hollytone ™ or other fertilizer specially blended for broadleaf evergreen shrubs. Follow directions on the fertilizer product label, and it is not recommended to fertilize a new transplant until it has been in the ground for at least a year.
Wintergreen Boxwoods are the perfect addition for both new and established gardens. Because they offer long-term impact for the landscape, they qualify as one of our choices as an investment landscape plants.
