Description

Juke Box® Pyracomeles - Dwarf Evergreen Shrub -

The Juke box® xpyracomeles is a dwarf evergreen shrub that can be easily mistaken for a boxwood or small holly. It is a small plant with a globe-shaped habit and tiny, very shinny leaves and fine branches. These give it a nice texture that stands out wherever you plant it. This Pyracomeles is perfect for hedging, edging, landscaping, mass planting, containers, or as a foundation plant. It however, does not flower, and has no thorns either.

It is very easy to plant and needs very little maintenance. It grows quite well in the sun or in the shade and makes an ideal trouble-free boxwood alternative. It can be used just like a boxwood, and can be trained, clipped, or trimmed as you want. You should however, prune it to shape in spring, before it turns woody. While this xPyracomeles is a pretty resistant plant, growing it in extreme cold conditions will damage its evergreen foliage, and is therefore recommended for USDA zones 7 and warmer.

Excellent boxwood alternative groundcover shrub.

The juke box® xpyracomeles is quite new to the market. It is a cross of two species – Pyracantha and Osteomeles, hence the silent ‘x’ in front of the name. Your garden is going to truly stand out with dwarf evergreen shrub in it.
