Native Wildflower Seed Mix for the Mid West

Mid-West Wildflower seed blend was formulated with wildflowers for the Midwest regions of the United States and Canada.

It can be planted in Ontario, southern Manitoba, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, extreme eastern Kansas and extreme eastern Nebraska.

Planting Rate for ½ acre or less 4 oz. /  1000 sq.ft.

Contains the following plant varieties: Annual Baby's Breath (Gypsophila elegans), Annual Candytuft (Iberis umbellata), Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), Clasping Coneflower (Rudbeckia amplexicaulis), Corn Poppy (Papaver rhoeas), Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella), Lance-Leaved Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata), Mexican Hat (Ratibida columnifera), New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae), Plains Coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria), Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), Purple Prairie Clover (Dalea purpurea), Scarlet Flax (Linum grandiflorum rubrum), Shasta Daisy (Chrysanthemum maximum)

At Greenwood we have formulated exclusively for our customers these custom wildflower seed kits. Each kit contains: · One 5oz. bag of pure seed without filler sealed in a zip lock bag for reuse and storage. One bag will cover 1000-1200 sq. ft. depending on the mix. · One 6oz. bag of filler to mix with seed at time of planting.

Why purchase wildflower seed that I have to mix with filler?

Most wildflower seeds are sold in bags or tubs that contain filler. If the seed is not used right away or is stored for too long, the filler takes the moisture out of the seed and the seed declines in viability. Use only the seed you need for the job and then as long as the bag is resealed and kept in a cool dark place, it can be stored for years without losing viability.
