Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox is a ground cover perennial that is ideal for rock gardens, topping retaining walls, edging pathways, banks, and slopes - a spectacular ground cover. Creeping Phlox grows vigorously forming dense spreading, evergreen mounds covered in beautiful white flowers with a pink mid stripe. Masses of two toned pink and white flowers cover the top of this mat forming creeping phlox for a long period.

Candy Stripe Phlox creates a carpet of bright pink and white blossoms for bank plantings or rock gardens. This creeping plant is a vigorous green and attractive as a evergreen ground cover when not in bloom. Candy Stripe is ideal for pots and hanging planters, too. This two toned pink and white phlox will spill over the edges of retaining walls for a graceful effect. Candy Stripe Phlox, Phlox subulata, is great to mix with blue and white varieties. Phlox is 4 to 6 inches high, 12 to 18 inches wide. Plant phlox in full sun, blooms in Spring.

Creeping Garden Phlox ships SPRING ONLY for optimum planting.

To extend bloom time for your phlox follow this fertilize plan.

Fertilize phlox the first time in early spring, just after new stem tips show at the soil's surface. Phlox needs a constant supply of nutrients to make strong, steady growth. Sprinkle a 9-12-12 timed-release fertilizer into the soil around the plants and then mulch over the area.

In late spring, after the plants have flowered, clip off spent blooms and then, lightly fertilize again. Pull back the mulch, sprinkle the fertilizer onto the soil around the plants, and replace the mulch. Then water the plants thoroughly. This feeding will provide the plants with ample nutrients to support prolonged flowering. Once blooming has ended, clip or pick the spent blossoms off the plant to prevent them from burning the foliage.
