Heptacodium Temple of Bloom® | Seven-Son Flower
Seven-Son Flower is a small growing tree up to 10 feet tall. It blooms in mid to late summer just as other trees and shrubs have run out of their bloom time. Blooms open in August as white fragrant flowers attracting a variety of pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. After several weeks, the blooms fall away leaving red fan-like bracts that make the plant look as though it is going into a second round of blooms. As the tree goes dormant in late fall and begin to drop, the gray tan peeling bark is exposed making for an interesting garden or landscape specimen.
Heptacodium is a much sought out tree by plant collectors and gardeners for its year round beauty.
Plant your Temple of Bloom® Seven-Son Tree in an open area where you can watch the birds, bees and butterflies enjoy the fragrance and nectar and then fall and winter interest.
